It probably does need to be longer, but I liked it - the essence is fascinating and sometimes one doesn't need all the answers.

I enjoyed this story a lot, but the ending disappointed. This should have been a much longer story.

I tend to agree with Robbins (#7) and would say this is a 5000 word story crammed in a 1000 word bag. The writing was good, smooth when the story was working. It was like enjoying a homemade milkshake but continuously hitting chunks of ice that hadn't been completely blended.

Were the three ex husbands the Magi, Maria the Mary figure and the new husband Alvin Stardust? An even stranger take on a strange story. Confusing and compelling.

Weird...not in a good way for me, I'm afraid. It's too garbled to follow, and I really don't care about Maria if she was dumb enough to marry an alien. Kinda feel sorry for the kid, though.

Well I gave it a FIVE! The start alone deserved that. It's good prose, and I got the "Men are from Mars" theme too. Great writing!

I didn't think it was a smooth transition from the point when Maria pulled off the road and fell asleep to following Alvin to Las Vegas; then, suddenly we are reading that she is married and expecting a baby. Too much of a jump.

I liked it. it was really creepy, but I liked the contrast between dreams and reality. I knew her finding a man was too easy.
