Great looking cover, Camille, and a nicely crafted blurb.

Well done!  Grin

What fantastic news about the anthology. You guys have done a great job!
I suspect this might not work but are there any other Scottish or London based authors in the anthology? Perhaps we should arrange an event?
OR Any UK based SF/Fantasy authors in the anthology? We could look to get a slot at the UK SF Eastercon (LX2009, Bradford) which I am attending.

Sorry if I should know the answer to where authors are based - but it seems sensible to kick things off via the forum.

I like the cover and the blurb, too.  Great work, guys!

Do you know if it will be available to order anywhere else, like Amazon, or should we direct people to the EDF site?  Will the link be obvious enough or will we need to direct them to the forums?  (Keep in mind, it might already be obvious and I'm just missing it!  Wouldn't surprise me.)

Will local bookstores be able to order it?

Don't worry about answering any of these questions now, if they'll be answered in another post/email at a later date.  Smiley

Thanks again, everyone at EDF!

Awesome cover you guys.  Best cover any of my work has ever been lucky enough to be in.  I am chuffed! (thanks S for the brit-speak!)  It's on my blog and i'm about to send out my emails.

Yes terrific job! Thanks Jordan, Camille and Steve. I've posted it in the bookshop over at my writing forum.

Thanks Jordan, Camille and Steve - great work.  And thanks Camille for answering my questions earlier.

I've linked to the Anthology from my website - posted it to facebook - sent out a blanket email to tons of folks - and gave the antho a thumbs up on Stumble Upon.  If there are any other stumblers on here, it may help if you thumbed up the link:  www.everydaypublishing.ca/cart/

Thanks again for all of your great work.

Thank you!  It's gorgeous.  EDF rocks in every respect.

It looks beautiful.  And the blurb is excellent, even going into the difficulty of crafting a flash tale.

Nicely done!

It should be available in all the usual places, such as Amazon, but I'm told that it can take 4 to 8 weeks for them to pick up new listings from new publishers. For purchases from us, you can give people the link to the anthology page directly: http://www.everydaypublishing.ca/cart/ (And no, there is no obvious link on our front page yet... we just got proofs approved and the shopping cart working last night and we hadn't thought of that detail yet!)

Will local bookstores be able to order it?
Yes!  Any bookstore anywhere can order it if given the ISBN (bear in mind that there are two editions, each with a separate ISBN, so make sure to give them the number of the format you want).

Thank you all so much for the kind words!  And now I'm off to send the authors' promo code emails!

Mark,

There are quite a few UK authors at EDF. I think M. Sherlock (Michael) was talking about arranging signing. We'll have to start a new thread for UK authors soon.

Got my copies of the trade the other day and I was blown away by how great they look.  It was even better than I had expected.  You all did a wonderful job!  Thank you!

Oh, one of the local bookstores was going to order a few copies and when they looked it up, they found it in Ingram Books In Print but not in Baker & Taylor-Title Source.  (I don't exactly know what that means, but they thought you all might want to know.)

Got my trade paperback in the mail a couple days ago and want to say it looks fantastic. What a joy! Especially knowing that the reading inside is even better!

Also Kudos on the interesting, insightful, and illuminating introductions from the three editors...

JORDAN: I found your overview of the market these past couple years fascinating and perhaps more insightful on the subject of online vs. print than anything I've read in publications like The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror.

CAMILLE: Yours is the single best description of flash fiction I have found, and beautifully written as well.

STEVEN: Your behind-the-scenes peek gives me new respect for what it takes to keep this fine little facet of the web-o-sphere smoothly spinning.

I am looking forward to seeing the hardcover gift editions I've ordered for Christmas presents.

Thanks so much for the kind words, everyone!  I'm so glad you're happy with it!

We should be listed shortly with Baker & Taylor.  We were told that it would likely take four to eight weeks for the various distributors and online retailers to pick up our titles, so it's actually a wonderful surprise to find that Ingram has listed us already.

Hey guys,

With the shakeup in the publishing industry right now, we're going to delay the publicity push on the book until January. It's a little late to get any reviews before Christmas at this point anyways, and we're worried our requests will get lost in the shuffle.

We're going to be sending out review copies in January, so if you guys have suggestions on where to send them, please make them in this thread.

Off the top of my head: The Fix Online, SFReader, and the Short Fiction Review, as well as major newspapers especially here in Vancouver (we're more likely to attract attention because of the local factor).

Just got my copy of The Best and I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to be a part of this seminal movement.  Yes movement, a change in the way things are done.  I love that you guys are so good at what you do and that I'm along for the ride.  This issue is gorgeous and something we can all be proud of.  We'll look back someday and say "That's when everything kind of took off, remember?"

Just got the hardback, LSI did a tremendous job on it, very impressed with the quality. I believe I will be ordering more in an attempt to make my friends perish with jealousy.

First time a story of mine has been in HB -- thanks EDF  Grin
