Unlikable main characters are okay, but unsympathetic main characters aren’t, at least for me. I’m willing to give an unsympathetic MC the benefit of the doubt in the hopes that something will change, but I didn’t find that here. There was a glimmer with Terry in one paragraph, but there was no real followup.

Sorry, this one didn’t do it for me.

It’s nice to find yourself going against the crowd because you liked a story.

Anyway, I like this story and felt there was ‘grit’ to the writing as if you got into the world of these characters (‘highschool peakers/dropouts’ I guess)

Anyway I could see how readers might have unanswered questions, becuse personaly I would like to read more to.

I liked it dangnabit!

I will not respond to naysayers, you are entitled to your opinion, of course.

But I will respond that there is NO head hopping. POV remains in one head throughout.

I really liked the opening line. It made me want to read more. I got completely lost after that and began feeling like I was the one with the hangover, not sure what went on in the paragraph I had just read.
Like I said though, great opener.
