As it happens, the Welsh coal fields (and the English ones) drew people from all over Britain and Ireland, so perhaps as many as half of those there now are at least partly of non-Welsh ancestry. The Irish contribution meant that there were some catholics; the odds are that Frank had that sort of connection (though it still doesn&#039;t feel right). The port area of Tiger Bay even ended up the first racially diverse part of Britain, with people coming from overseas too.</description>
