		<description>Yes I can't really expand on this one, because it is itself a contraction of a classic pulp story. That was the idea, of course.
It makes for an easier task of writing something this short. Unlike say, my werewolf story, which I managed the entire story from begining to end in a few short paragraphs, the only way to fit this sort of thing into so short a format is to remove the bulk of what makes up a true sword and sorcery epic-- which is the action, the long build up of tension as the dramatis personi play out their roles and cut straight through to the conclusuion and denoument.
To do that, I aped a rather well known piece of work-- the seminal writer of S&#38;S's best known story of this kind. Trying to distill that piece (which has become sort-of generic in its feel due to so many writers reworking it to their own ends) down to the essentials of the story. I twisted the plot all out of shape, of course, but still. . . .</description>
