“It felt like a good openning for a novel” Yeah, I hear that a lot. Truth be told, I don’t think I know how to write truly stand-alone short stories.

Very interesting stuff, Suanne. I’d have read a lot more of this. It felt like a good openning for a novel – an interesting theme. Keep going!
