Did you know that Olympus Mons sits EXACTLY on Mars&#039; equator? It wasn&#039;t always so. Scientists believe it once sat somewhere in the northern hemisphere, but it was SO massive that centifugal force actually tilted the WHOLE planet so that Olympus Mons was at the equator. That&#039;s how big the freaking moutain is.

Also, the volcano is so tall that the peak actually sits outside the atmosphere.</description>
