terrific Melisse
I don't see the futility of the relationship at all; the continuous railing against it(the situation) only encases one, trapped like the wasp.

Miss !

I am enchanted by the vivid description, depth of characters and the gloomy feeling it tend to give.. Feels like some old back and white movie running with Beethoven's saddest symphony..

This was Beautiful, Melissa, I completely understood her feelings and her situation because mine is similar. And I expected that after he left she would free the wasp and leave him. Instead you made her tiredly make up with him, and killed the wasp. So well done, and unexpected that it gave me goosebumps. Real and all the more powerful for it.

Good story on a relationship. The wasp, as others have said, an excellent counterpoint. Content she may be, but will it last? I doubt it.
